About Us
The Heart of Exmoor wild camping site is a fab Somerset base for walking and cycling adventures in the Exmoor National Park. From your hilltop pitch, you can plan your holiday in total peace while contemplating spectacular views of Winsford Hill and Withypool Common at the same time.
The back-to-basics site is spacious and secluded, with a compost toilet including charging facility, a cold tap and recycling bins. After you’ve made friends with the farm animals, let the kids loose to mess around in streams and walk the dog across hilly fields. And even if you're out and about all day, save a bit of energy for later so you don't miss the chance to check out the Milky Way on clear nights.
Directions - Unless you are walking or cycling, please don't attempt to access the site via Combe Lane, which is a no-through road from the village of Exford.
Instead, from Exford, turn off the B3224 onto Park St heading towards Porlock. Follow this road out of the village and near the top of the hill you will drive over a cattle grid (Hillhead Cross). Take the immediate right, signposted Luccombe. The campsite is the next right turning (if you get to Porlock Post you have gone too far).
